Still in southern Turkey, been relaxing at the beach last 2 days which has been very nice feeling refreshed and ready to hit the road again, tonight taking a night bus to the Syrian boarder which I hope to cross on Monday. I wont be making any blog post from Syria as it’s police state so they have banned blogs and other sites like facebook. Will update blog from Lebanon around the 2 May.

ISTANBUL

Been in Istanbul for last 5 days checking out this amazing city. Coming from eastern Europe were things can be a bit basic and run down I was really surprised with how modern Istanbul is, if it wasn’t for the countless number of tea shops and daily calls to the mosque you could easy think you are in any European city. I have been staying with Chris an American who teaches English here, his insight into the Middle East has been a real eye opener for me, there is so much going on here politically and historically it can make your head spin. I'm off to Bursa today were I will be staying for a few days before going down to Gallipoli.

Bulgaria

Immmmmm how do you sum up a place like Bulgaria in a few lines …..dirty, messy, friendly, crazy, fun oh and just a little bit ex-communist to.

Been an interesting week here done every thing from clubbing in the capital to hiking in the mountains. But now I’m getting itchy feet to get to Turkey and have a nosy around the Middle East, so tomorrow ill be off on a 8 hour bus ride to Istanbul where I will be staying for the next week.
